    Signed Academy contract with Cardiff Blues aged 16. Played for Wales Under 16's.


    Selected for Wales Under 18's and captained team vs England under 18's.


    Captained Wales Under 19's to a Rugby World Cup Semi-Final in Ireland.


    Captained Wales Under 20's to a Rugby World Cup Semi-Final in Wales. Selected for Wales 7's squad. Played first Senior game for Cardiff Blues, August Pre-Season.

  • 2009

    Played first competitive game for Cardiff Blues which led to an international call up to Wales Senior Team for their tour to Canada and USA winning first senior cap. Autumn campaign selection followed, earning first start Vs Samoa.


    Selected for first 6 Nations campaign. Won Amlin Challenge Cup with Cardiff Blues beating Toulon in Marseille.


    Named Captain for Wales for first time against the Barbarians and for the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand becoming the youngest ever Rugby World Cup captain in history aged 22. Infamously sent off against France in the Semi-Final after 17 minutes.

  • 2012

    Captained Wales to a 6 Nations Championship Grand Slam.


    Won the 6 Nations Championship selected to Captain the British and Irish Lions becoming the youngest Lions captain in history. Captained the Lions to a 2-1 series win against Australia.


    Dislocated shoulder vs Scotland during the 6 Nations Championship requiring surgery.

    Captained Wales to a Quarter Final in the Rugby World Cup hosted by England.


    Fractured eye socket playing for the Cardiff Blues against Leinster requiring surgery.


    Selected to captain the British and Irish Lions tour to New Zealand resulting in a drawn series.
